Global Reggae Charts – Issue 7 // November 2017

A new issue of the Global Reggae Charts magazine releases today. This time we feature a very special project who entered the album charts at #9: Havana Meets Kingston. A real intercultural project initiated by Mista Savona from Australia, who brought together the best musicians and singers from Jamaica and Cuba. Our featured voter this month is Asaf „Baba G“ Nahmias from Israel, who presents his Ba Ba Reggae show at Kol Hanegev 106,4 FM.

On the single charts this month there are a lot of „expected“ entries and many tracks only changed position. Alborosie – Living Dread stays at #1, Chronixx – Skanking Sweet and Damian & Stephen Marley – Medication climbed the charts to #2 and #3. There are three new entries – Macka B – Wha Me Eat (Remix) at #11, Ken Boothe – Let the Water Run Dry at #17, and New Kingston – Come from Far at #20 – and three re-entries – Estelle – Love Like Ours feat. Tarrus Riley at #6, Jesse Royal – Always be Around at #13 and the first single from the Havana Meets Kingston project called „Carnival feat. Randy Valentine and Solis“ at #18 – on the charts this month.

On the album charts find a correlation between the new/re-entries on the single charts and the new entries on the album charts. Straight to #1 is the album „Lily of da Valley“ by Jesse Royal. The new Macka B album „Health is Wealth“ entered at #6 and the featured album of this issue „Havana meets Kingston“ entered at #9. Apart from that, we have last month’s #1-#4 regrouping as #2 Samory I, #3 Chronixx, #4 Damian Marley, and #5 Lee „Scratch“ Perry“ right now.

The charts are online and can be found at www.globalreggaecharts.com. Voter registration is now open as well. Visit the site for all the details.
