Danakil presents new album “Entre les Lignes”

Their roots reggae with a touch of hip hop and French chanson has taken them around the world. On top of their success, Danakil prove that they want to stay on top.

If success is the answer to all your efforts, just keep going. “Entre les Lignes” is Danakil’s fourth studio album, and if you’re familiar with their style, you know what to expect: a polished, well-produced roots album with pensive lyrics that is just as enjoyable with a glass of Bordeaux as with a spliff.

“Entre les Lignes” picks up where Danakil was with “Echos du Temps”, with committed and socially conscious lyrics. “Mali Mali” and “L’or noir” talk about France’s unhealthy one-way relationship to its former colonies on the African continent, often referred to as Françafrique. Lead singer Balik’s poetic lyrics take you on a trip in “Larmes d’or”, or remind you of Europe’s lost generation in “Les signes” and the “Outro”.

With The Twinkle Brothers and Groundation’s Harrison “Professor” Stafford and Marcus Urani, Danakil invited some top-ranking friends from the reggae business to lend their voices to featurings that will simply take your breath away.

“Entre les Lignes” will be released on February 24, 2014. The album can be pre-ordered on Baco Records’ website and will be available on CD (digipack), LP (double vinyl edition), and for digital download.
