Tad’s Records releases Old King Cole Riddim

by Stacy-Lee Thompson

The Old King Cole Riddim is a do over of the Vanity Riddim in a 2018 style. This was a foundational rhythm in the transition period between Ska and Reggae music and epitomizes the evolution of Jamaican Music. With emphasis on a solid bassline coupled with sophisticated yet relatable lyrical content, Old King Cole Riddim has resurrected and revitalized the mystical and demanded Reggae sound.

The featured acts on this project each carry the beat with a melodious sound and take the listener on a rhythmic ride as their lyrics skilfully accompany the savvy Reggae beat. The Old King Cole Riddim is filled with feel good music which is welcomed by all music lovers, showcasing both veteran artists such as Marcia Griffiths, Sugar Minott, seasoned Reggae singers such as Richie Spice, Brigadier Jerry, and Annette Brissett, as well as a selected group of younger artists who have rose to the challenge, Zamunda, Jah Cure, and Etana, I-Octane, Hezron, Bugle, and many more.

Old King Cole Riddim went back to basic and the present and future are thankful and cruising to every note.
