Busy Signal To Be Extradited To The US Today

Embattled dancehall star Busy Signal is schedule to be extradited to the United States today to face charges of absconding bail and a possible drug charge.

According to reports, US Marshals arrived in Jamaica yesterday in a private jet to escort the entertainer to Minnesota, where he will face a judge.

“A private plane landed this afternoon at the Norman Manley International Airport,” law-enforcement revealed.

Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was arrested at the Norman Manley International airport in Kingston last month. He was traveling on a flight from London and was suspected to be carrying false documents. His arrest came after an extradition warrant was issued for the Alliance deejay, who was touring Europe at the time.

Busy Signal’s current legal troubles stems from a narcotics case 10 years ago in Minnesota, where he was on trial. Allegations are that the “One More Night” deejay skip bail and flee from the United States to Jamaica in 2002, where he launched a promising music career.

The deejay waived his rights to an extradition hearing, however, his legal team, headed by former government minister KD Knight, states that he can only be tried for absconding bail as part of the extradition treaty between Jamaica and the United States.
