No war between I-Octane and Vybz Kartel

The management of cultural reggae artiste, I-Octane, is stoutly denying rumours that he is at odds with dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel.

The rumours may have come about because of a recent interview in which another popular dancehall artiste mentioned a possible feud between the two.

In a release sent to THE STAR, I-Octane’s manager, Ray Alexander, stated: “Reports have surfaced in the media and elsewhere that I-Octane and Vybz Kartel are in some kind of war and we would like to make it clear that there is no truth whatsoever to such rumours.”

I-Octane, Alexander added, is an artiste who genuinely believes in unity and would never stir up any trouble with another entertainer.

“Both Octane and Kartel are from Portmore and so the unity is already there. Octane is a man who plays Kartel’s music and if they are on a show together he stays to watch Kartel perform. We have no idea why anyone would want to make statements designed to cause mischief and smear I-Octane’s character,” Alexander lamented.

Responding to the allegations that I-Octane has taken over all of Kartel’s Portmore fans, Alexander stated: “There are enough fans in Portmore for every artiste. And there are lots of fans who like both artistes. I-Octane is a singer and Kartel is a deejay, and their music will appeal to different groups of people. This thing about one artiste taking away another artiste’s fans is just silly,” he concluded.
