The Return of Reggae Sundance! Get there by Bus!

Reggae is getting bigger and bigger, artists are touring again and the the festival season is at full swing. For the dutch Reggae fan this festival season feels like a special one. And the main reasons for that is that Dutch finally, after 4 years, got  their one and only Open Air Reggae Festival back! Starting in 1996 the Reggae Sundance Festival, yeah thats the one we talk about here, drew heaps of people to the Eindhoven Area to enjoy the famous relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

At their top, Reggae Sundance drew about 50.000 people from all over the globe, spread over the weekend, to fulljoy the great line ups, all kinds of entertainment such as a huge festival market, workshops, art and live performers. Even the kids got their free children’s-entertainment corner which was usually the most popular destination. And Nuff food for the hungry, meaning exotic food stands from all over the globe, to let you not only hear, but also taste the Caribbean vibes.

Unfortunately Reggae Sundance, after a blazing festival in 2008 with artists like Lee Perry, Cocoa Tea, Junior Reid, Tarrus Riley, Queen Ifrica and Burning Spear, had to stop and for 4 years the Dutch (and reggae lovers in europe) seemed to wait in vain for a next edition of the Festival. But the waiting wasn’t for nothing, late summer 2012 the rumors starting to spread that the festival would return at the E3 beach in Eersel. This time not (yet?) in the full 3 day edition but starting off as a 1 day festival without a campsite.

As expected the organization of Reggae Sundance did a great job putting the line up together, this coming festival will bun dung Babylon for sure! Reggae fans from al over will be served some great established names like Alpha Blondy, Gentleman, Israel Vibration, Elephant Man and Dean Fraser. For a little dutch flavor the Dutch/Surinamese artist Joggo will make his appearance. And to top it off they added some  young lions and a lioness to the line-up with Chronixx, Jah 9 and Protoje!

If you are looking for a transport or an organised trip to the Sundance festival go to www.eventtravel.nl to see all possibilities and pricing. There will be 236 places throughout the Netherlands where you can hop on the bus!

This all sounds like the 10th of August is gonna be an Irie day! To make it even nicer World A Reggae is giving away 2 x 2 Free tickets. Try to get lucky and see how you make chance to win those!
