Conquering Sound – Gun Salute Mixtape Feat Sir Jean

This is the first official full reggae project of Sir Jean, an underground artist from France. Born and raised in Senegal, he became the leader of big bands that had a great success in France and all over Europe like Le Peuple de l’Herbe and Meï Teï Shô. He is now coming back to his first love : reggae music !

Conquering Sound, a french crew of selectors, brought him to this project of a strictly dubplates mixtape, showcasing his talents on roots, rub-a-dub, digital, hip-hop and dancehall riddims with his inimitable wild and rough voice which reminds us of a powerful Sizzla. On this mixtape, Sir Jean is sharing the mic with different big artists (Capleton, Tarrus Riley, Johnny Osbourne, Lutan Fyah, General Levy…) and his voice can be heard on 12 out of the 23 tracks. The Gun Salute Mixtape vol. 1 is a first step to other future reggae projects for Sir Jean, beginning with his tune on the first Conquering Records’ production, My Enemies Riddim, which will be out very soon on 45s. Some excerpts of the riddim can be heard at the end of the mixtape…
