Koffee was nominated for the Award in the category Best Reggae Album for her EP Rapture along with Steel Pulse, Third World, Julian Marley, and Sly & Robbie vs. Roots Radics.

Entering the stage in a black suit, Koffee Thanked her producers and paid respect to the people before her that taught her a lot in the industry.

Koffee, whose real name is Mikayla Simpson (Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica) first drew attention with ‘Legend”, her tribute to Usain Bolt in 2017 under the wings of manager Caniggia Palmer, but really came into the picture after her introduction by Cocoa Tea on stage at Rebel Salute 2018. Also in 2017 Koffee released her first real single called “Burning” on the Upsetta Records Label as she explains in our short “Get to Know Koffee” interview in 2017. In 2018 Koffee made her mark with her production with Frankie Music on “Raggamuffin” wherein she sings “Gi mi di world and mi ago shell it”. Well, that dream came true now. In mid 2018, Koffee signed with Columbia Records UK and RCA in the US.

After this things started to go fast for Koffee, Touring the world, dropping tune after tune. Tracks like Toast, Throne, W ft Gunna, Cyanide with Daniel Ceasar and, of course, her now Grammy Winning 5 track EP “Rapture” which was released March 14, 2019.

Big ups and congratulations to Koffee for such a huge achievement in less then 3 years, I hope we catch up again soon and talk about your Grammy!
