Inna De Yard released new album on Chapter Two Label

As you all might know the UNESCO organization recently made the decision to add Reggae Music as a genre to the list of “The Intangible Cultural Heritage Of Humanity”. The Inna De Yard Collective – with Cedric Myton, Kiddus I, Ken Boothe and Winston McAnuff as frontmen / singers – warmly welcomes this decision, because with Inna De Yard they have been standing for this special Jamaican music for more than 10 years. Culture ‘in the purest and most intense way, gathering the very best of legendary reggae music’. However, it is not only the “eldren”, such as the 72-year-old Cedric Myton – founder and frontman of The Congos, but certainly also the young new talents who are part of Inna De Yard. As long as they stand up for “traditional real roots reggae”.

The new album was produced by the Chapter Two label and the songs were recorded “outdoor in the yards or Kingston, as they did in the 60s and early 70s.” The addition “The Soundtrack” indicates that this is a musical addition to a film. And it is. Well-known English director Peter Webber shot his images and did his interviews during the recording of the new album to “tell the artistic, human and political story of Inna De Yard”. In the documentary, Webber also follows the “key members of this collective” in their daily activities and they look back on their illustrious past; “Roots reggae revisited”!
