Isha Bel releases Hear Me Now (One Woman Army)

On Friday, April 3, 2020. Kalinga and Zojak Worldwide released long-awaited music from roots and rubadub vocalist Isha Bel from Kingston Jamaica.

Hear Me Now ( One Woman Army ) is part 1 of the live and digital albums Isha Bel spent the last 2 years producing and compiling. Isha Bel produced some of the tracks and also collaborated with several local and International producers giving fans a 9 tracks album jampacked with digital niceness. It is just enough to whet the appetite in anticipation of the follow up live album.

“A whole heap a vibrant and upfull energy on this album and the sound is different from the live works releasing later this year. For many months, I tried to pick songs to release one solid project but the works beg separation. I love sweet meditative roots reggae music and I also love the raw energy of digital roots like the 80’s era. This has a lot to do with what I hear growing up in Rockfort. Betwixt my steady diet of gospel provided by my father I was surrounded by The chanting and Drumming down a Mr. Fuzzy and Putus Roots Yard. Right beside the drum sounds was his mother Miss Birdie, Poco church Sound systems like Super D would bellow out all the new dancehall roots and lovers tunes from Paul Works verandah. Those sounds saturated me resonates today in my musical expression.” Isha Bel explained.

Isha Bel collaborated with some of the digital roots producers who gave her a voice when she restarted like Marshall NeeKo of Idlers Corners Record (Fr). Dougie Conscious Sounds (UK) /Couchette Records (FR) on currently promoted tracks Mr. Cobscience and Likkle Prayer. The previously released Ancestor Song with Black JuBe (AUS) is included. She also worked with Wud’s Sounds, Selassie I Sounds and Rico of OBf Sound.

The first and bouncy Red Eye comes from Chaka Demus’s Bright Star Production Label.
