Shasha Marley – Enemies are not Jah

Shasha Marley is a Ghanaian conscious reggae singer with a voice full of passion and urgency. Shasha started singing during his teenage years and since then he has mesmerized and captivated audiences in Ghana and around  the world. He draws his inspiration from conscious reggae artists including Bob Marley, Winston Rodney AKA (Burning Spear) and Steel Pulse just to mention a few. Throughout his career, Shasha Marley has written and sang music that inspires, educate and entertain his fans while still maintaining his originality. His latest single ‘Enemies are not JAH’ is a message of hope and joy to a world in need of positive vibrations. On this new release, Shasha Marley collaborates with the Grammy nominated drummer, percussionist & producer Paapa Nyarkoh. 

Paapa Nyarkoh is a world renowned reggae drummer who performs and tours with the original Wailers led by Bob Marley’s legendary lead guitarist Al Anderson. Paapa is multi talented musician, composer, arranger and producer who has performed with Hugh Masekela, Chico DeBarge, Magic System and Joseph Hill of Culture just to mention a few. Paapa has also recorded a solo album of indigenous Ghanaian music “Benya” that features ancient African drumming, oral tradition teachings and ancestral chants. His great knowledge of traditional poly rhythmic African music helps him to infuse fresh ideas into reggae, calypso and Afro Cuban music. ‘Enemies are not JAH’ is a true testament to his unlimited creativity and his openness to collaborative artistry. The positive message in the song is a reflection of who Paapa Nyarkoh is; A human being full of love, concern and compassion for all his fellow human beings regardless of cultural, ethnic or racial background.
