Brand new Way Back Riddim – Akom Records

One year after « Heartwarming Riddim », French label – Akom Records from Marseille is coming back with « Way Back Riddim » built in 80’s rub a dub style, composed and played by David & Faby respectively drum & bass from Dub Akom one of the well known European Backing Bands.

 

The WAY BACK RIDDIM brings together various artists of the current Jamaican scene such as Konshens, Lutan Fyah, Jah Mason, Lukie D, Turbulence, Lorenzo, the veteran Johnny Osbourne, as well as artists like Pressure from Virgin Islands, Million Stylez representing Europe and other upcoming artists like Jah Marnyah from UK, Jahnett Tafari new talent from South African music scene and just discovered Jah Torius & Di Ras two brilliant artists from Jamaica.

Konshens, very present with all his dancehall hits offers us beautiful lovers tune called “Let Me Go ” where once again he demonstrates his effectiveness on this kind of riddim. Pressure with “Crazy Love” talks about his crazy love story, combining singing chorus and pushy verses; Lukie D calls for unity with his “Calling”; Lutan Fyah & Million Stylez splits “Revelation Time” a strong statement in today’s world with its evil spirits; Jah Mason with his sweetness on the chorus and very energetic verses presents us the tune called “Dem A Fight” and points others jealousy and wicked man fingers, same goes for Jahnett Tafari with “Heathen Rage” and Di Ras “Heathen” who denounce all haters. The only veteran artist Johnny Osbourne easily riding the riddim with his original style, recommending peace and love and wondering why there are all these wars with the title “Why”. Turbulence “Step Without Fear” is a big tune praising Rastas favourite plant; with “The System Evil” Jah Torius delivers deep lyrics and talking about the malfunction of the system; Jah Marnyah’s “Reach Out” and Lorenzo’s “Warrior” bringing positive message filled with ambition and perseverance.

The Way Back Riddim will be release on may 27th on Itunes and all digital platforms. Exclusive 10″ vinyl release is to follow later this year with 2 unreleased cuts.
