In December 2024, Dutch artist Quincy Dwayne released his solo debut single ‘Hold On’ on his own independent label. Quincy made waves as the lead singer of The Dubbeez, the band that took home the win at the 2016 Ostróda World Reggae Contest in Poland. That victory opened big doors, leading to an album recording at the legendary Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica and a record deal with Ziggy Marley. With the band, he shared stages in Paris and Copenhagen and performed at the prestigious Uitmarkt in 2019 alongside Dutch superstar Guus Meeuwis.
Since 2019, Quincy has been focused on his solo career, honing his craft with vocal training at the Babette Labeij Music Academy. He recorded multiple singles, with “Hold On” marking his debut release, and in 2025, he’s dropping live recordings from the iconic dutch Wisseloord Studios.
Raised on a diverse musical diet, Quincy grew up surrounded by the sounds of Michael Jackson, Jackson 5, Sam Cooke, and Motown greats. His uncle introduced him to reggae and dub, with influences ranging from Bob Marley and UB40 to Lee Scratch Perry and Burning Spear.
For Quincy, it’s all about staying positive and keeping the vibes uplifting!
