Isha Bel & Miriam Simone Celebrate Sisterhood with “Sister Sister” Video

Just in time for Empress Menen Day, today April 3, 2025, reggae artists Isha Bel and Miriam Simone release the official music video for “Sister Sister” — a heartfelt anthem dedicated to strength, unity, and womanhood.

Shot across Jamaica — in August Town, Hellshire, and Bob Marley Beach — the visuals reflect the heart of the song: culture, ancestry, and solidarity. Directed by Gameface and edited by Isha Bel herself, the video brings the message to life in an honest and powerful way.

But this is more than a release — it’s a movement. “Sister Sister” is also the theme song for the Indigenous Motherhouse Foundation, led by Miriam Simone to uplift women worldwide. Co-directed by Isha Bel, the music and visuals reflect the mission: real voices, real strength.

Speaking with World A Reggae, Isha Bel shared how the track came to life:
“Miriam Simone and I have been friends for the past decade, and ‘Sister Sister’ is a testament of that friendship. The idea for the song came about in 2020. She was here in Jamaica to launch her EP, and on the day before she went back, we were at the studio—just in a vibration, reasoning, harmonizing like we do. Out of that moment, the idea for ‘Sister Sister’ came to being. It was a divine moment.”

While the song didn’t get recorded right away due to a few delays, the vision remained strong.
“In 2021, during the pandemic, she was at my house and we were in a good vibration again. I had some rhythms I’d been building with different musicians, and she started vibing on them. We started writing songs together, and from that moment, the idea for a full EP came to life—with Sister Sister as the first single.”

Production for the track came full circle in 2024, when Isha brought a team of musicians into the studio.

“I took Ian on Bass, Bubbla on Keys, Marlon on drums, and Gibby on Guitar. We recorded the rhythm, and some of the additional recordings were done by Cali Bud at Bobby DIgital’s Studio and the mixing by another female, Tandra Jhagroo, in Shaggy’s studio. Now we’re doing the final touches for the full EP, which will drop later this year. Sister Sister is born out of friendship, A Natural Vibration.”

Produced by Kalinga Records and Dredda Records, the track features Jamaican greats like Franklyn “Bubbla” WaulGibby Morrison, Ian Knight, Junior Congo, and Sheldon Bernard.
