Our current mood can be described as happily anxious because Alborosie has announced the release of his ninth studio album, Nine Mile, set to drop on October 24, 2025, via VP/Greensleeves Records.
Named after the rural village where Bob Marley was born, Nine Mile finds Alborosie reconnecting with the roots that shaped his sound. The album was written and recorded at Pupa Albo’s Shengen Studio in Kingston, which houses vintage equipment once used by pioneers like King Tubby. Musically, it moves through lovers rock, roots reggae, and cross-cultural blends, weaving in influences from dub, ’80s rock, new wave, and even bossa nova.
As a first glimpse, Alborosie has released “Trench Town Legend”, a reflective track that pays tribute to reggae’s birthplace and its worldwide reach. The accompanying visualizer mixes scenes from Trench Town with footage from the studio, grounding the song in the community that continues to inspire generations of artists.
Across Nine Mile, Alborosie explores themes of love, heartbreak, social struggle, and musical legacy — connecting his own experiences with the broader story of reggae culture. The album follows 2023’s Destiny, which featured collaborations with Buju Banton, Kabaka Pyramid, and Jaz Elise.
After completing a summer tour with his Shengen Clan band, including performances at Summerjam (Germany), Reggae on the River (California), and Sony Hall (New York), Alborosie is now preparing for two new runs: a Latin America tour this fall with stops in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Costa Rica, followed by the Nine Mile Club Tour across France and Luxembourg in spring 2026.
