Hempress Sativa releases 12-track “Woman” album alongside Paolo Baldini

Thirteen years after “Motherland” and ten years after her standout tune “Boom (Wah Da Da Deng),” Hempress Sativa is back for her first full-length collaboration with Paolo Baldini. The project, dubbes “Woman” moves between roots and dub, built around a clear theme that highlights strength, resilience, and the spiritual role of women.

Hempress Sativa takes a personal approach throughout the album, using her lyrics to reflect on real experiences while leaving space for listeners to connect their own stories to it. Especially on the title track, there’s a sense of grounding, offering something that leans more towards reflection than just performance.

The production comes from Dubfiles boss Paolo Baldini, recorded and mixed at Alambic Conspiracy Studio in Italy. His signature dub-heavy approach sits comfortably alongside Hempress Sativa’s delivery, keeping the sound rooted while allowing room for depth and detail.

Guest appearances from Tiken Jah Fakoly and Jalifa add extra weight to the project without shifting its focus. Available on digital platforms and vinyl, the album stands as a steady collaboration that builds on a connection already proven over time. This is what we mean when we say we like reggae music!
