You hear it more and more now. Artists speaking on what is really going on in Jamaica’s music industry. Yaksta said his part recently, and now Inezi dropped “Social Mess,” produced by Addis Records, touching that same nerve.
Inezi talks about the struggle of trying to navigate a system that doesn’t always seem built for you. That subject is not new to reggae, but right now it feels very current again. You see a new New Age Rockaz group of artists like Dahvid Slur, Karbon, Anue-Naki, OJ Tha Great, Spechinal, and Jah Vezl all pushing, all trying to find space. “Social Mess” sits right there with them. Not overdone, just saying what needs to be said.
“This is music for thinkers. For lovers of conscious roots-reggae music. For those who see what’s happening in society and refuse to stay silent.”
