Joseph Benaiah: ‘Nothing New’

Nothing New is the new single by Joseph Benaiah, a roots reggae track that reflects on how humanity continues to face the same struggles generation after generation, encouraging people to remain strong, positive, and aligned with the truth.

Musically, the single stays faithful to the tradition of authentic Roots Reggae, featuring an organic and spiritual production deeply connected to the roots of Jamaican music. “This song speaks about life’s journeys and how to overcome adversity by aligning with the Most High God,” explains Benaiah. Inspired by the idea that “there is nothing new under the sun,” the lyrics offer a conscious reflection on human challenges and the spiritual strength needed to overcome them.

Recorded at Mixing Lab Studio in Kingston, Jamaica, Nothing New features an outstanding lineup of musicians, including Kurt Bennett on drums, Danny Basie (FireHouse Crew) on bass, Robby Lynn and Leroy Romans on keyboards, and Joseph Benaiah himself on guitar. The powerful horn section is performed by Ras Brass, featuring legendary names such as Dean Frazier, Chico Chin, and Nambo Robinson, while background harmonies are provided by Daffodils.

This is the second single from Joseph Benaiah’s upcoming album, scheduled for release later this year, following His Majesty Is Coming.

Nothing New will be available on digital platforms from June 12.
