Mavado Newark Concert Shooting Left One Dead, Video Released

New Jersey law enforcement authorities have released video footage from a Mavado concert in Newark where a fatal shooting took placed last week Tuesday (June 12).

The video shows Mavado performing at the Palladium Ballroom on Branford Place in Newark just moments before gunshot rang out sending the audience into panic.

According to reports, Andre Henry, 35, of Irvington, was shot and killed, while a security guard employed by the club was shot and injured. Mavado was not hurt in the incident.

Authorities believed that an altercation in the club lead to the shooting.

“It was mayhem,” Newark Police Detective Emanuel Miranda told reporters.

Mavado, whose real name is David Brooks, was interviewed the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, however, he is not a suspect in the case. Police is currently looking for leads in finding the unidentified gunman.

The Prosecutor’s Office released a statement asking anyone who was in the audience to help identify the shooter and to turn over video footage from their cellphones.
