Wickie Wackie Music Fest Returns to Jamaica’s Bull Bay in 2025
The Wickie Wackie Music Fest (WWMF) is set to make a grand return on February 14-15, 2025, transforming the picturesque Bull Bay coastline into a vibrant celebration of authentic roots reggae. As part of Reggae Month, this two-day festival promises an immersive cultural experience, blending legendary performances, emerging talent, and the essence of Jamaican heritage.
The festival offers a lineup of foundation artists, iconic sound systems, and rising stars. Kumar Bent, festival co-founder, shares, “WWMF represents the pinnacle of reggae authenticity, bringing together foundation artists, emerging voices, and traditional sound systems on the treasured shores of Wickie Wackie Beach. It’s where the rhythms of roots music meet the waves, creating an experience that honors Jamaica’s musical heritage.”
Festival Highlights
Day 1 – February 14: For the Love of Sound
• International “Rootsman Clash” featuring Germany’s top sound systems SuperSonic Sound and SoundQuake.
• Performances by Natural High Sound (Jamaica) and Silly Walks Discotheque (Germany).
• Iconic sets by Gabre Selassie of Kingston Dub Club and Uncle Ronnie of 8 Mile Sound.
Day 2 – February 15: Play I Some Music
• Grammy-nominated Kumar headlines, joined by special guests Ras-I, Kahlia, Christopher Ellis, Jah Izrehl, and more.
• Third World celebrates its 51-year legacy with a full set of hits.
• Legendary Max Romeo performs during the Jamaican leg of his farewell tour.
• Earl “Chinna” Smith’s Binghistra Movement, a 25-piece Rastafari drumming ensemble, chants at sunrise and sunset.
• Sets by international selector Rory Stone Love and emerging talent from The Alpha School of Music.
New Additions for 2025
For the first time, WWMF introduces an immersive camping experience in partnership with Let’s Go Camping Jamaica and Buds & Brushes Ja. Attendees can enjoy:

• Morning yoga and sound baths
• Steam and Paint sessions
• Traditional drumming circles
• Evening beach bonfires
A curated craft village will showcase local artisans, authentic Jamaican cuisine, and exclusive merchandise.

A Legacy of Revival
Founded in 2011 by Kumar Bent, Uncle Ronnie, Mahlon Moving, and members of Raging Fyah, WWMF began as a local series called Wickie Wackie Live. It quickly became a hub for emerging reggae artists, giving early platforms to global stars like Chronixx, Koffee, and Jah9.
