Kenya Eugene releases ‘You Are I, EP.

Kenya Eugene has officially stepped into her roots with the release of her debut Roots Reggae EP, You Are I, now available on all streaming platforms. The four-track project, produced by Alfred “Tippy I” Laurent of I-Grade Records alongside the Zion I Kings, is Kenya’s most intentional and personal work to date—grounded in reggae, yet wide open in feeling.

Recorded in Atlanta, the EP explores themes that go far deeper than rhythm: love, identity, perseverance, faith, and self-worth. From the opening notes of “In and Outta Love” to the meditative flow of “I N I” and the strength in “Lift Up My Head,” this project doesn’t just offer songs—it offers stories.

“Each track tells a different story, but they all connect,” Kenya says. “This project is more than just music—it’s a reflection of my journey, my roots, and my voice stepping fully into the world of Roots Reggae.”

Working with Zion I Kings brought an unmistakable energy to the project—a sound rooted in heavy, authentic reggae, layered with modern warmth. That synergy allowed Kenya’s voice and message to stand fully in the spotlight, with every lyric landing from a place of lived experience.

You Are I is not just a career milestone—it’s a declaration. Kenya Eugene isn’t stepping into reggae as a trend. She’s stepping into it as her home.
