Sometimes when you see two big names collaborate on a track, it’s a surprise how that would work out. This re-visited track, “Moonlight,” now a first collaboration between Warrior King and Busy Signal, worked out amazingly well. The track, originally produced by Crawba Genius on the Moonlight Riddim and released on April 18, 2025, blends Warrior Kings’ singing voice perfectly with Busy Signal’s dancehall vibe.
When World A Reggae caught up with Warrior King, he shared the story behind this latest release, Moonlight :
“It’s just Jah works, you know. Because Moonlight is a song that was originally out there about 12 years ago. I recorded it back then, produced by Crawba Productions — Jermaine Henry, right? — and it was originally just me on the track. We released it, but it didn’t really make the impact we expected at the time. Years later, I said to Crawba, ‘This song is so powerful, I feel like it didn’t get the justice it deserves.’
So, knowing that Crawba was working with Busy Signal — one of my favorite dancehall artists of all time — I said, ‘Try get somebody to voice it with me.’ And that’s how things started moving.”
Warrior King went on to explain how naturally the collaboration came together:
“I didn’t want the song to just fade away, you know? Moonlight is a beautiful love song, and people have to know about it. Being that Crawba had that link with Busy Signal, they made the connection. Busy heard it, loved it, and right away went into the studio — no hesitation, no second guessing. He just felt it. The rest is history.“
As he continued: “So now you have Warrior King featuring Busy Signal on Moonlight, produced by Crawba Productions. It’s all about love — I love my queen, Busy loves his queen same way — so it just flowed naturally. No itching, no scratching. We just did the song and the magic worked.
People are loving it already! We just released it and the feedback has been amazing. We’re working on the visuals now — so look out, within a week or so, the official video should be ready. This song nuh normal.”
