Suns of Dub join forces with Afroplug for a new sample pack that brings the foundation of roots reggae and dub into a modern production space. Curated by Ras Jammy, the Roots Legacy collection offers more than 160 royalty-free sounds, including live drums, basslines, dub FX, steel pan melodies, keys and percussion, giving producers the tools to build authentic reggae-inspired tracks while keeping full creative freedom.

For years, Suns of Dub have moved between heritage and forward-thinking sound, connecting the musical traditions of Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago with a global studio culture. The project also marks a reunion moment, as Afroplug founder Ms. Mavy returns to collaborate with a movement she was once part of during its early artistic growth. Known for working alongside artists such as Chronixx, Protoje, Sizzla and Macka B, and for helping introduce dub to new audiences through collaborations including Major Lazer, the collective continues to push reggae production into new spaces without losing its roots.

Alongside Ras Jammy, contributors like Roots Legacy, Carlton Shepherd, and Sleepy Time Ghost add their own textures to the pack, blending traditional sound system elements with a modern dub aesthetic. The result feels like a bridge between past and present, created for producers who want to explore reggae’s foundation while shaping its next chapter.
