Rising stars J’calm (Jovane Nathaniel Gayle) and Nigy Boy (Nigel Hector Jr.) link up with veteran producer Tony “CD” Kelly for a new single called Emotions, released via K-Licious Music and Dubshot Records. The track sits on a modern rework of the classic Answer riddim, reshaped for 2025 but still carrying the backbone of Jamaican music culture. Kelly’s production gives both artists room to move: J’Calm with his smooth R&B phrasing and Nigy Boy with a delivery full of feeling and strength. Emotions is the lead track for the upcoming album, also called Emotions, set to release January 9, 2026

For J’Calm, Emotions is tied to identity, vulnerability and the early steps of figuring out who he is as an artist. Nigy Boy adds his own story to the mix, drawing from the discipline and heart he built during his years at the Salvation Army School for the Blind in Kingston. Their energies meet in a way that feels genuine and youthful, with both artists pushing the song past genre labels and into something more personal. The video, filmed across Jamaica and directed by Filmaica, carries that same intention, showing two young voices navigating emotion and connection with honesty.
