Dominica’s own AbiYah Yisrael continues her unique path in reggae music with the release of her new music video for “Wake Up”, taken from her debut EP African Renaissance (2023). The video was shot across the stunning landscapes of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Born Nicole Alfred and raised in a Christian home in Glasgow—a village in the southwest of Dominica—AbiYah’s journey into music began early, singing in school choirs and local competitions. But it was during her university years that she connected deeply with roots reggae, leading her toward a path she now calls Truth Music—a blend of reggae, calypso, and cadence-lypso rooted in spiritual identity and purpose.

Co-owner of ChaYah Studios in Castle Bruce, AbiYah produces music that reflects her dedication to Torah and her identity as a daughter of the nation of Israel. Her lyrics speak to self-discovery, consciousness, and healthy living, with previous singles like “Eat Clean Live Clean” and “Herb Tree” gaining international traction.
