Impressions of the Lost in Time Festival 2023

Protoje’s Lost in Time Festival Happening at Hope Gardens on February 25th was absolutely fantastic. The festival was really well run. Since this might have been te first festival in Jamaica two stages (The New Wave stage and the Lost in Time stage). It seemed to take a minute for the patrons attending the festival to understand it. But as things went on everbody found his/her way to the second stage as well. They’re going to need a bigger second stage next year.

The line-up of the festival was young and energetic with performances by Protoje’, Lila Iké, Jesse Royal, Mortimer, Samory I, Tessellated, Jaz Elise, Naomi Cowan, Ras-I and YaadCore, but the crowd got way more than the bargained for with some guest performances by Chronixx, Ky-Mani Marley, Popcaan, Aidonia, Sevanna and Richie Spice (are we missing anyone).

The organization did a great job, even parking was pretty smooth. The festival had a Good variety of vendors. Lots of options for everybody. And everything was on time, which we have experienced in Jamaica. For the most part, the sound at Hope Gardens was fantastic. The bass was a little heavy for a while, a couple of feedback glitches but overall it was really great festival and we look forward to the 2024 edition.
