From July 23 to 25, Kortemark once again becomes a meeting point for roots and soundsystem culture with a new edition of the Irie Vibes Roots Festival. Spread over three days, the event moves from the free Kortemark Congé opening on Thursday into a full soundsystem focus on Friday, before closing on Saturday with a mix of live reggae acts and heavyweight sessions.

The Friday night puts the spotlight on soundsystem culture, with Blackboard Jungle Soundsystem hosting in the Lion’s Den alongside guests like Marky Lyrical and Sistah Jahia, supported by crews such as NicoZen and Ital Power. On Saturday, the live side comes forward with names like Sara Lugo, Skarbone 14, Beljam Roots Collective and a headline set by Cimarons meet Lone Ark, bridging UK reggae history with modern roots production.

Beyond the music, Irie Vibes stays close to its values with a strong community feel, market, food area and space for families.
