Global Reggae Charts December 2017 + Countdown with DJ745

The last issue of the Global Reggae Charts magazine for 2017 is out now. DJ 745 countdowns the Top 20 Singles Chart on WorldAReggae.com in association with Global Reggae Charts.

This time we feature the In.Digg.Nation Collection around reggae superstar Protoje. As the featured voter we got Dominic Reuben from Oslo Reggae Show at Nova Radio, Norway.

On the single charts, we have a lot of new entries. The #1 position on the single charts goes to Alborosie – “Living Dread” for the third month in a row. #3 goes to Chronixx – “Skanking Sweet”, who is on the top of the charts for months now. #2 goes to the climbing Protoje & Mortimer – “Truths & Rights” and #4 to Black Uhuru feat. Bugle – “Jah Guide”. The highest new entry this month comes from Randy Valentine – “Vigilant” from his new album “New Narrative” at #5. Other new entries are Lila Iké (from the In.Digg.Nation Collective) with “Gotti Gotti” at #8, Jah9 – “Feel Good” at #9 and Freddie McGregor – “Reggae Boom” at #12. Our last month’s feature has been about the Havana meets Kingston project. This month the longtime chart single “Carnival” changed for the album track “100 Pounds of Collie” feat. Cornel Campbell, Prince Alla, The Jewels, Leroy Sibbles, Cali P, Lutan Fyah and Exile di Brave. Three more new entries we can find at the positions 16-18: Romain Virgo & Christopher Martin – “Leave People Business”, Damian Marley – “The Struggle Discontinues”, and Chezidek feat. Capleton – “Jah Jah Bless”.

On the album charts, we have a general change. Starting this month, we are publishing top 20 positions as we are doing on the single charts. Therefore we have a lot of new entries over here as well. In the top five, we have the usual albums from Jesse Royal (#1), Chronixx (#3), Samory I (#4), and Damian Marley (#5), who are leading the charts for months now. New in here is the “Havana meets Kingston” album, that we featured last month and jumped from #9 to #2. Given the situation, that the album hasn’t been released, when last month voting was closed, it is no wonder that it got a much higher position this month. New entries on the top 10 are coming from Randy Valentine – “New Narrative” and Ken Boothe – “Inna de Yard”. On the positions 11-20, that are published the first time this month, we find further new entries by Chezidek – “Irie Day”, Emeterians – “The Magic Touch”, SOJA – “Poetry in Motion”, Courtney John – “Ecosystem”, Victor Rice – “Smoke” and Peace Development Crew – “Better Days”.

The charts are online and can be found at www.globalreggaecharts.com. Voter registration is now open as well. Visit the site for all the details.
