I’ve been talking to everyone who will listen about this new artist coming up, I’ve been watching. One I think is going to make big waves in the world of reggae. He goes by the name of Rik Jam and we consider him World A Reggae Family. He has been absolutely coming on strong. Make sure to check out his music!

I’d also be a fool if I didn’t mention the rise of another young star. One equally incredible, just in a different way. And that is one Mr Phillip Mcfarlane. For those who think he may look familiar, he’s the former member of the excellent Roots Reggae group Earthkry. He played keys for those guys. But has since moved on to other pursuits.

In fact, Mr McFarlane has been quietly producing incredible riddims and work behind the scenes. Making him a very hot and sought-after producer/engineer currently. He even has his own label… Irie Yute Tapes. One that has been showing strong movements throughout the industry. I’m telling you now..Keep an eye on that one!

Tonight we got a treat. We got to see both of them performing live at a great outdoor venue, The Commons, in Chico, CA. The KZFR/Stay Positive Sound produced show also included another rising star. Irie Yutes own Dalwayne. His tone and lyrical movements were also very impressive and gave us a great set.

And on top of all that..(“But wait! There’s more!”) The show also included local favorites Triple Tree, with early vibes duty, along with killer sets from our one and only DJ PHG. Wicked!
