And the Grammy Award for BEST REGGAE ALBUM goes to Jimmy Cliff's "Rebirth"

February 10, 2013, the day that Reggae Legendary artist Jimmy Cliff have won a GRAMMY AWARD for BEST REGGAE ALBUM from his latest release REBIRTH.

Jimmy Cliff’s critically acclaimed Rebirth was one of the five nominees in the Best Reggae Album category of the 55th Grammy Awards.

The other nominees were Miracle by the Original Wailers (MRG Recordings); Tomahawk Technique (VP/Atlantic Records) by Sean Paul; New Legend: Jamaica 50th Edition (Mondo Tunes) by Sly and Robbie & the Jam Masters; and Reggae Got Soul: Unplugged On Strawberry Hill (Metropolis Recordings) by Toots and the Maytals.

This marks Jimmy Cliff’s second Grammy. He won his first Grammy Award in 1985 with his album Cliff Hanger.

Jimmy Cliff was not present at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles to accept his award.

The 55th Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center.
