Reggae artist Bushman is back in a big way with a new studio album and a title to match, ‘Bushman Sings The Bush Doctor’. The album is a tribute to reggae legend Peter Tosh. On the album Dwight Duncan a.k.a. Bushman covers some of Tosh’s greatest hits as he pays justice and tribute to the icon, who together with Bob Marley and Neville ‘Bunny’ Livingston formed the original Wailers.
‘Bushman Sings The Bush Doctor’ is a twelve track collection of classic Peter Tosh songs, recorded with reverence and granting homage to the original classics, and has been produced by legendary producer Donovan Germain of Penthouse Productions. The album feautures guest performances by Buju Banton and Tarrus Riley. Musicians like Sly Dunbar and Robbie Lyn, both members of Peter Tosh’s backing band Word, Sound And Power, Kirk Bennett and others also join Bushman on this tribute, which both honors and continues Tosh’s musical legacy. The baritone voice of Bushman has a notable resemblance to Tosh’s tone and is thus perfectly paired on this tribute to the iconic entertainer. With his own vibrant, soulful sounds, this new take on Tosh’s classics is a treat for connoisseurs and new fans alike.
The lead track ‘Legalize It’ was featured on the recent Greensleeves compilation Hi Grade Ganja Anthems Volume 3′. Other standouts include ‘Don’t Look Back’ featuring Tarrus Riley, ‘Mawga Dog’, ‘Brand New Second Hand’ and ‘Mama Africa’ featuring Buju Banton.
