Telecommunications provider, LIME, has announced that the upcoming Rebel Salute show (January 15 at Port Kaiser in St. Elizabeth) and Buju Banton’s ‘Before The Dawn’ show (January 16 at Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in Miami, Florida), will both be broadcast live for its mobile TV subscribers. LIME mobile TV subscribers, with the appropriate handsets, will reportedly be able to watch both shows, in digital quality.
Rebel Salute will be carried on LIME Mobile TV’s channel 11, while the Buju Banton show will be carried on Channel 7 (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Both shows are being provided free of cost to subscribers as part of LIME’s free introductory offer, where $250 call credit provides 200 minutes’ talk time and a week’s TV access. Plans are reportedly afoot for the presentation of several other local and international shows via LIME Mobile TV.
For Buju Banton it will be his first concert in more than a year following his arrest in December 2009 and subsequent mistrial.
“Right now the buzz is all about the Buju Banton concert but we know that realistically a lot of Buju’s most loyal local fans cannot make it to Miami for the show so LIME is bringing Buju to them,” said LIME spokesman, Stephen Price.
The concert will also feature reggae stars including Stephen Marley, Gramps Morgan, Wayne Wonder, Tarrus Riley & Dean Fraser, Shaggy, Nadine Sutherland, Freddie McGregor and Everton Blender.
