Jahbar I releases Introductory Album “JAHBAR I DEHYA”

For Jabari Miller aka Jahbar I, being the son of one of Jamaica’s most respected musicians, George Miller aka “Dusty”, drummer and band leader of the legendary Firehouse Crew, it seemed natural that he would follow in his father’s footsteps.

Just age 23, he has already recorded a number of songs for several Jamaican and European producers, from which he has compiled an impressive 16 track LP entitled “JAHBAR I DEHYA” (release December 14, 2018), an introductory release to proclaim to the global Reggae landscape, his unique songwriting skills and vocal delivery, which appears to be well beyond his years.

The album overall is nice and rootsy with tracks like a.o. “Legal Scamma”, “Steaming From Mawning” and “Many Talking” with here and there some dancehall and HipHop influences.

The album “JAHBAR I DEHYA”, wil be digitally released worldwide on I-Tunes and all other digital platforms. It contains 16 fiery, thought provoking tracks which were all written by Jahbar I, a testament to his superb songwriting skills. It also features top notch musicians including members of the legendary Firehouse Crew, Michael Fletcher and Dean Fraser, to name a few. Backing vocals
include Dalton Brownie, Sherida Sharpe and Dorrett Wisdom.

In promotion for the album Jahbar I will be touring this summer alongside Warrior King with Rockers Artist Agency.

ABOUT JAHBAR I
Jahbar I’s love for music developed at an early age, as he often  accompanied his father to the Recording Studios and band rehearsals.  Naturally, his musical prowess started on drums, having watched his father, who is also a brilliant producer with numerous accolades. This paved the way for the development of the Artiste Jahbar I.

As a toddler, he made numerous appearances on stage alongside Roots luminary Luciano “Jah  Messenjah”, whose official band was The Firehouse Crew.  At age 10, he began playing drums on recordings for high-profile artistes such as Gentleman, Sizzla Kalonji as well as acts from Japan.

In late 2012, he released his first songs “I Just Be Me” ( Re-Birth Riddim), and “The Chant” (I Fawud), (Ansa Di Question Riddim). He has also done notable collaborations with international artistes Kaya, a Cape Verde singer, Dutch songstress Leah Rosier and African artiste Ras Haitrm.

In January 2015, Jahbar  I made his first major show debut at Rebel Salute and his second in December 2017 at Tarrus Riley and Friends Live annual show.

Jahbar I has been staking his claim on the local Reggae scene this past year with several scintillating performances such as Reggae Month’s Firehouse & Friends showcase, Stone’s Throw Bar Live Showcase, Peter Tosh Tribute, and Ras Haitrm Album launch. The future looks bright with major upcoming shows during the festive season, which includes Ganja Fest and Portmore Music Fest. Plans are also in high gear for a European club Tour in May 2019.

Jahbar I  acknowledges that he is a fan of many Artistes which have inspired him along his musical journey, from he was just  a mere toddler to present day, but his guiding philosophy is: “I just want to be the best of me.”
