It has been three years since Haphazard, and independent reggae outfit The Admirals from Northern Italy, are back with their latest self-produced project, When the Rain Falls. Dropped on April 30, 2026, the album acts as a spiritual follow-up to their 2019 concept release, Sail for Tomorrow.
If you caught the early singles “Stand Firm” and “Don’t You Go,” you already have an idea of the direction here. While their previous work tackled big community themes to reach the individual, When the Rain Falls flips the script. The band looks inward first, focusing on how individual awareness and personal freedom help us navigate the heavy weather and crises of modern life. They pose a central question throughout the tracks: “When the rain falls… what do you do?“
What makes the record stand out is its organic pacing. It is built to feel like a live performance or a continuous dialogue, with the music playing out through the arc of a single day. The album opens with a calm morning, moves into a heavy, purifying storm, and settles into a quiet night sky. They even brought in foley artist Matteo Brenko to add ambient rain and environmental effects, using instrumental bridges to keep the whole thing flowing naturally from start to finish.
The lineup has shifted since their last outing, with new backing vocalists Lara Modolo and Noemi Carnelos officially joining the crew, alongside Alice Modolo on vocal harmonies. Matteo Zambonin also steps in on trombone to round out the horns.
The band handled the recording and mixing themselves alongside Marco Andretta, who took care of the final mastering. The visual side is just as deliberate, featuring cover art and illustrations by Emma Michieletto that match the physical transition from storm to calm.
It is a thoughtful, independent release that skips the usual hype to offer some actual substance. When the Rain Falls is streaming now across all major platforms, with a special double vinyl edition coming later in June for the collectors.
