German sound system Supersonic Sound teams up with Jamaican singer Taffari and producer Big Finga for “The Best Thing”, a roots reggae gem first heard on Supersonic’s Conscious Reggae Vol. 54 mixtape and now officially released with a heavyweight dub mix by Tippy I-Grade.

Speaking with World A Reggae, Taffari shared that the song came straight from a personal place. Written after the end of an 11-year relationship with his children’s mother, the track reflects gratitude, memories, and self-reflection rather than blame. Recorded late at night in his own room with a makeshift setup, the song’s raw ambience, even the insects outside, became part of the take, as he added: “The riddim itself was like, definitely pull the text out of me, you know? “I didn’t write it down; it just came naturally from the riddim,” Taffari said. “It’s about my experience, but also about what people can call the best thing in their own lives.”
