Kempo’s latest single Vitamin 6 from his EP First Chapter [produced by Sunny Island Record] is taking the streets by storm.

Born on a sunny day in Montego Bay, music has always been a vital part of Kempo’s life due to how he grew up with a mother who was a lover of (reggae) music. While Kempo never planned out to become an artist, his mother had noticed his talent from a young age and pushed him to pursue a career in music. She believed that Kempo was made/born to create music that resonated with me and I just never stopped creating.

“So far, the decision to choose for a career in music has added so much value to my life. My family, my friends, my entire community hold me in high regard. They expect me to do my utmost best and I intend to do exactly that. I have an entire parish to make proud”.

Kempo’s biggest accomplishment in music so far is him landing a record deal with the US-based Sunny Island Records . Under his new label he wrote, recorded and released his freshman album called ” First Chapter ”.

He classifies his album as “new rooted millennium”. Heavily inspired by reggae legend Ini Kamoze ; Kempo was focused on creating the same type of compelling music as his idol. Inspiring yet addictive. Kempo wants to be known as an artist who is consistent and who goes the extra mile to ensure that his fans are entertained.

Although he’s quite experienced on stage, he will never forget the one time he was performing in front of a large crowd and forgetting the lyrics to his own song. That to date is his biggest embarrassing moment.

When Kempo is not busy with his music, he likes to spend time reading, cooking, and playing football.
