A Live Conversation with “Third World” – 47th Anniversary Celebration

(Destine Media) New York, NY August 15th, 2020. Music that is as socially relevant today as to when it was first penned, for close to five decades, ten-times GRAMMY nominated reggae band THIRD WORLD gifted music lovers with a meaningful soundtrack of our lives, and on Sunday August 16th, we celebrate 47 years with the Reggae Ambassadors!

It’s no secret that music is universal. It doesn’t care where you’re from, or what language you speak. It speaks the words we don’t have and expresses ideas we could never fathom. All it takes is a quick glance at a total stranger whilst grooving along to instantly make that connection. That is what Third World has steadily delivered with their body of work, and alongside the spirit of the late Bunny Rugs, members Stephen “Cat” Coore, Richie “Bassie” Daley, AJ Brown, Norris “Noriega” Webb and Tony “Ruption” Williams are celebrating their 47th anniversary with a live stream event, and the premiere of their lyric video for their single “People of a Different Colour” featuring Pressure and special guest Ibo Cooper.

We dream, we hope, we pray,
We work, we toil, we play
We bleed, we grieve, we fight

Those honest poignant lyrics from the single off their Grammy-nominated album “More Work to Be Done” are more significant than ever amid some of the crisis that has plagued 2020 to-date.

No matter where we come from, this is my assumption,.People of a different color praying to a different name, let;s find a way to get along with each other
Sponsored by Tempo Networks, NTV – Kenya, Reggae Official and powered by Ghetto Youths International, the special occasion hosted by long time friend Steve Locke, in Jamaica, will be streamed live on Facebook (Third World) / IG Live (Third World) / Youtube (Ghetto Youths International Youtube) at 3pm JA Time / 4pm EST / 9pm UK

The August 16th also commemorates the one year anniversary of Third World’s Grammy-nominated album ‘More Work to Be Done’ produced by Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley. In honor of this celebration, the band will premiere the lyric video for “People of a Different Colour” featuring Pressure BussPipe.  This virtual celebration comes on the heels of Third World receiving the Reggae Sumfest lifetime achievement award, a modest Cat Coore who was on hand to accept the honor humbly stated “This is not exactly the time one is thinking about awards but that’s what makes this so special,” he said. “We’ve done a lot of hard work throughout the years. We’ve taken a lot of hits and we’ve had lots of highs and lows. This is a definite high and an unexpected one at that”.
