Kingston, Jamaica – Althea Stephanie Hewitt, Reggae Ambassador 2021, is pleased to announce her new music video “Power in Love” to be released today May 9th, Mother’s day.

The alluring music video, produced by Kyoni Recordz gives us the message of love revealing who we truly are through spiritual bonding. With the support of two media partners, World a Reggae in the Netherlands and FRESHFM RADIO LONDON the release is set to premiere on Mothersday at 9am UK time, 10am Europe and 3am Jamaican time to start the Sunday and Mothersday as well. On the meaning behind the song, Althea explains, “I want Power in love to open people’s eyes to let them know that love is still relevant especially in these Covid times”

Althea’s career began in her childhood, where she was inspired by her parents, especially her father, who was also a musician. Her tremendous talent and leadership qualities served in good stead during her stint as leader of the
award-winning group 4th Street Sister that not only dominated the Jamaican cabaret scene for years but helped to re-establish the female vocal group as a viable musical concept in the Jamaican setting. Althea poured her manifold
experiences into a successful debut album, “Introducing Althea Hewitt” and produced the hits “Boom Boom Boom” “Unconditional Love” and “Save Me” among others. Building on that foundation, she came “Stronger” both the title of her follow-up album and a powerful hit single.

Althea has maintained a high level of productivity throughout 2020, cooperating with DJ Prodígio and others to provide new fresh tracks. Her productivity in the pandemic paid off at the beginning of 2021 when she was named Reggae Ambassador during Reggae Month. The activities during Reggae Month brought Althea into a whirlwind of opportunities resulting in an online Valentine’s performance, and this brand new video, dedicated to Althea’s mother, of her song “Power In Love”.
