Carey James is a Kingston-based artist, songwriter, musician, and producer who has been building his sound from a young age. Starting out on drums in church, he moved into production and songwriting while still in school, later studying audio engineering at the University of the West Indies. After a period as part of the duo Pondemik Jamaica, he stepped into a solo career in 2017, focusing on music drawn from personal experiences, with influences that echo names like Shaggy, Diana King and Sean Paul.
